A metaheuristic-based approach to optimizing color design for military camouflage using particle swarm optimization

The purpose of this study was to evaluate the usability of the System View, Map View, and Line View that constitute the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) mobile traffic navigator. The usability and information visualization evaluations were collected from 100 young professionals living in Quezon City and Mandaluyong City. The results indicated that Line View had the highest usability index followed by Map View and System View. Finally, structural equation modeling was applied to derive the causal relationship between effectiveness, efficiency, and satisfaction dimensions. The results could be very beneficial for MMDA especially in terms of improvement on the content and design of the mobile traffic navigator.

The Usability of Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Mobile Traffic Navigator as Perceived by Users in Quezon City and Mandaluyong City, Philippines

The COVID-19 pandemic has had a great impact on the fitness centers industry. The purpose of this study is to analyze the preference of gym-goers on fitness centers in the Philippines during the COVID-19 pandemic by utilizing a conjoint analysis approach. One thousand gym-goers voluntarily participated in this study and answered 22 queries created from the orthogonal design. The results indicated that Price was the highest attribute considered (21.59%), followed by Ventilation (17.56%), Service (16.59%), Trainer (14.63%), Payment Method (11.95%), Operating Hours (8.90%), and Login (8.70%). The results also indicated that comfort, security, and fitness center services were the main aspects that gym-goers would consider as their main preference. The study highlighted how gym-goers are sensitive to the price set by the fitness centers. Moreover, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, ventilation and size are considered highly important attributes among gym-goers. Comfort, safety, and security are the main consideration to have sustainable fitness centers during and even after the COVID-19 pandemic. The outcome of this study may benefit fitness centers and increase their business market by considering the preference of customers. Finally, the result of this study can be utilized by fitness centers to promote a generalized fitness center for gym-goers of different generations, statuses, and even socioeconomic status during and even after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gym-Goers Preference Analysis of Fitness Centers during the COVID-19 Pandemic: A Conjoint Analysis Approach for Business Sustainability

The nutrition label is an important part in informing consumers about the nutrition content of food products. This study utilized structural equation modeling to derive the causal relationship between "Nutrition Label", "Nutrition Fact", "Reason to Check", and "Purchasing Decision" simultaneously. A total of 100 questionnaires were collected from respondents in Barangay 454 and 455, Sampaloc, Manila, Philippines. The results indicated that "Nutrition Label" had significant effects on "Reason to Check" and "Purchasing Decision". In addition, "Reason to Check" also had a significant effect on "Purchasing Decision". Interestingly, female respondents and respondents with higher income had significant effects on "Reason to Check" which subsequently affect "Purchasing Decision". Our SEM results could provide valuable theoretical foundations to identify the interrelationship among "Nutrition Label", "Nutrition Fact", "Reason to Check", and "Purchasing Decision" particularly for nutrition researchers and food manufacturers.

The Effect of Nutrition Labelling on Purchasing Decisions: A Case Study of Lucky Me! Instant Noodles in Barangay 454 and 455 Manila, Philippines

A flute manufacturer in Indonesia has difficulties in finding the most favorable flute model. The purpose of this study is to find: 1) the combination of flute attributes that is most preferable to consumers and 2) to make recommendations about new attributes desired by consumers. This study was organized in two steps: a preliminary questionnaire aimed to identify flute attributes most considered by consumers; and secondary questionnaire where conjoint analysis was applied to determine the relative importance of flute attributes. 120 flutists living in Jakarta were asked about their preferences with different attributes combination using 5-point Likert scale. Results of this study indicate that the consumers want silver head joint, silver main body, silver flute joint, split E mechanism included, open hole, offset G, B foot joint, Included B to C# trill and not included G A trill and consumers expected B to C# trill for the new innovation.

Consumer Preference Analysis on Flute Attributes in Indonesia using Conjoint Analysis

Based on the energy consumption and emissions from the transportation section, Indonesia started the National Electric Vehicle Program (Molina) in 2012. The electric vehicle (EV) is made up of a few main components, one of them is the battery. Lithium battery is the main choice for the EV storage system because it is lightweight, has a high storage capacity and electrical conductivity, doesn’t have memory effect, and has a relatively long life cycle. Indonesia’s Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek) initiated the National Consortium of Lithium Battery that focuses on both upstream and downstream research to develop EV lithium batteries domestically. This research aims to assess the technology readiness of EV lithium battery in Indonesia using the Technology Readiness Levels (TRL) method and to identify action items to improve technology readiness using the Importance-Performance Analysis. Results showed that EV lithium battery in Indonesia achieved TRL 5 and action items were derived through a focus group discussion with experts from academicians, the government, and industry.
