We describe an unsupervised approach to multi-document sentence-extraction based summarization for the task of producing biographies. We utilize Wikipedia to automatically construct a corpus of biographical sentences and TDT4 to construct a corpus of non-biographical sentences. We build a biographical-sentence classifier from these corpora and an SVM regression model for sentence ordering from the Wikipedia corpus. We evaluate our work on the DUC2004 evaluation data and with human judges. Overall, our system significantly outperforms all systems that participated in DUC2004, according to the ROUGE-L metric, and is preferred by human subjects.

An Unsupervised Approach to Biography Production using Wikipedia: Presentation Slides

In the present work, the effect of dispersion of Al2O3 nanoparticles on ionic conductivity of non-aqueous PVdF-HFP/PMMA blend-based nanocomposite gel polymer electrolyte system comprising liquid electrolyte of sodium trifluoromethanesulfonate is investigated. The ionic conductivity of the electrolyte increases maximum to ∼ 1.5 × 10−3 S cm−1 for the composition with 6 wt% Al2O3 nanoparticles. The optimized composition retains Vogel-Tamman-Fulcher (VTF) behavior in the temperature range from − 50 to 95 °C. The scanning electron micrography and x-ray diffraction studies reveal the uniform dispersion of Al2O3 nanoparticles in the porous structure of the nanocomposite gel polymer electrolyte and enhanced amorphicity of polymer matrix. The optimized electrolyte composition owns a sufficiently large electrochemical stability window of ~ 3.6 V with good sodium ion transference number. The optimized electrolyte is used in a prototype sodium battery cell, which shows an open circuit potential of ~ 2.5 V and first discharge capacity ~ 400 mA h g−1 followed by a capacity decline with cycling.

Effect of Al2O3 nanoparticles on ionic conductivity of PVdF-HFP/PMMA blend-based Na+-ion conducting nanocomposite gel polymer electrolyte

Composite polymer electrolyte (CPE) based on polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) polymer, potassium carbonate (K2CO3) salt, and silica (SiO2) filler was investigated and optimized in this study for improved ionic conductivity and potential window for use in electrochemical devices. Various quantities of SiO2 in wt.% were incorporated into PVA-K2CO3 complex to prepare the CPEs. To study the effect of SiO2 on PVA-K2CO3 composites, the developed electrolytes were characterized for their chemical structure (FTIR), morphology (FESEM), thermal stabilities (TGA), glass transition temperature (differential scanning calorimetry (DSC)), ionic conductivity using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS), and potential window using linear sweep voltammetry (LSV). Physicochemical characterization results based on thermal and structural analysis indicated that the addition of SiO2 enhanced the amorphous region of the PVA-K2CO3 composites which enhanced the dissociation of the K2CO3 salt into K+ and CO32- and thus resulting in an increase of the ionic conduction of the electrolyte. An optimum ionic conductivity of 3.25 × 10-4 and 7.86 × 10-3 mScm-1 at ambient temperature and at 373.15 K, respectively, at a potential window of 3.35 V was observed at a composition of 15 wt.% SiO2. From FESEM micrographs, the white granules and aggregate seen on the surface of the samples confirm that SiO2 particles have been successfully dispersed into the PVA-K2CO3 matrix. The observed ionic conductivity increased linearly with increase in temperature confirming the electrolyte as temperature-dependent. Based on the observed performance, it can be concluded that the CPEs based on PVA-K2CO3-SiO2 composites could serve as promising candidate for portable and flexible next generation energy storage devices.

Optimization of the Electrochemical Performance of a Composite Polymer Electrolyte Based on PVA-K2CO3-SiO2 Composite

The present study was an attempt to formulate and evaluate enteric coated tablets for Ilaprazole to reduce the gastrointestinal tract side effects. Four formulations of core tablets were prepared and one who shows rapid disintegration (near around three minutes) was selected for enteric coating. Ilaprazole which have an irritant effect on the stomach can be coated with a substance that will only dissolve in the small intestine. Enteric coat was optimized using two different polymers such as HPMCP 50 and Eudragit L 100 in different concentrations. The prepared tablets were evaluated in terms of their pre-compression parameters, physical characteristics and in-vitro release study. 2.5% seal coating on core tablets was optimized and 9% enteric coating on seal coated tablets was performed using HPMC P 50 (60%), triethyl citrate (10%) and IPA:DCM (60:40) which gives the highest dissolution release profile and f 2 value. Effect of Herbal Medicine “Diabetocure” on Clinical and Biochemical Parameters of Diabetes

India is a country where different type of languages, culture & food habits are in use. There is tremendous regional diversity in their daily diets. Indian cuisine reflects a more than 5,000 year history of various groups and cultures interacting with the subcontinent, leading to diversity of flavors and regional cuisines found in modern-day India. Dietary pattern analysis is an emerging area of research. This study demonstrates the importance of elucidating the social and cultural contexts in which dietary behaviors exist, especially when considering contradictory mainstream approaches to health promotion. Most of the food items were developed by keeping the health aspect in mind and some of the foods were directly used as homemade medicine for some specific diseases as they had therapeutic value. The previous generations knew very well the medicinal value of some of the spices or other ingredients and as such made it a point to use that ingredient in some food recipe to add medicinal value in it. This made Indian cuisine rich in a wide variety and taste and also helpful for health. It also provides valuable information to develop qualitative measures for empirical assessment, develop and evaluate targeted interventions.

Swine flu is an emerging viral infection that is a present global public health problem. There are many thousand cases of swine flu can be seen around the world in the present day. Due to the nature of a respiratory virus, the transmission of this pathogenic virus is airborne transmission. Hence, the rapid spreading and difficulty in control of this infection can be expected. Ayurved believes in Nidan parivarjan and recommends the strengthening of the immunity to prevent disease like swine flu from its attack. There are no any medicines or vaccination are available now a days for prevent from swine flu. Mask is an only available option from avoiding the virus, but sometimes it fails to stop the infection and peoples are unable to wearing mask for all time. So there is a need to develop such a thing which we can carry easily with us and protecting from the infection. Many environment purification techniques (like Homa, Yagya, Dhoopana ) have been mentioned in our classical texts. Several scientific studies have validated the clinical efficacy of air freshener against the viral stains. Freshener is a household product that can release the chemicals they contain into the air and inhaled by consumers. The purpose of this research is to determine the ability of herbal essential oil to be formulated as a â€œWIN FLU- air freshener gelâ€ with fragrance of citrus oil and binder of peppermint oil. Gel formulation in the study was made from a mixture of herbal essential oil (carom seed, Eucalyptus, Basil, Ginger, Clove), sodium benzoate, peppermint and citrus essential oil in distilled water with a variety of different concentrations of herbal essential oil at 1%, 2% and 3%, then performed an evaluation form hedonic test gel with 30 panelists, evaporation of a liquid test during 4 weeks of storage. The results of this study indicate that the best gel formula is the formula A3 with an herbal essential oil concentration of 3%. Results per cent of total evaporation of liquid air freshener gel formula are respectively 59.12%, 42.32%, 21.22%.
