Journal ArticleDOI

Rosemary (Rosmarinus officinalis): a study of the composition, antioxidant and antimicrobial activities of extracts obtained with supercritical carbon dioxide

TL;DR: In this paper, supercritical fluid extraction (SFE) and Soxhlet extraction were used to extract rosemary leaf extracts and their chemical compositions were evaluated by GC-MS for compounds reported in the literature as showing antimicrobial and antioxidant activities.
Journal ArticleDOI

Identification of degradation products of erythromycin A arising from ozone and advanced oxidation process treatment.

TL;DR: Six degradation products were identified from ozonation-one originates from direct ozone attack on the tertiary amine group, while the others arise from radical ion attack, which might be formed during degradation of O3 in water.
Journal ArticleDOI

Tertiary treatment of slaughterhouse effluent: degradation kinetics applying UV radiation or H2O2/UV.

TL;DR: The secondary wastewater of a slaughterhouse was the water source for a tertiary treatment study evaluating the kinetics of the photo-induced degradation of color and UV254 under UV radiation with and without the addition of H2O2, indicating that the compounds responsible for color may be the same content measured by UV254.
Journal ArticleDOI

Imazalil Degradation upon Applying Ozone—Transformation Products, Kinetics, and Toxicity of Treated Aqueous Solutions

TL;DR: In this article, the elimination of the pesticide imazalil (IMZ) spiked into ultrapure water as well as into wastewater applying ozone (O3) and the identification of transformation products was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Study of banana (Musa aaa Cavendish cv Nanica) trigger ripening for small scale process

TL;DR: In this article, the impact of O2, CO2 and ethylene concentrations on the ripening rate control of bananas was investigated, while the maturity degree was monitored through the physical and chemical parameters and sensorial analysis.
