An electron microscope study of neutron irradiation damage in alpha-iron

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of annealing up to 500°c on the micro-hardness and structure of α-iron foils were studied and it was suggested that the visible clusters in the irradiated iron are interstitial in nature, the vacancies being trapped by interstitial loops.
Journal ArticleDOI

Neutron irradiation damage in molybdenum: Part II. The influence of crystal perfection and irradiation temperature on the damage structure and its annealing behaviour

TL;DR: In this article, a detailed electron microscope study has been made of the damage structures both before and after a post-irradiation anneal of one hour at 1173°K and showed that the defect cluster topology in the irradiated specimens is a sensitive function of both material purity and irradiation temperature.
Journal ArticleDOI

The influence of material purity and irradiation temperature on self-ion damage in molybdenum

TL;DR: In this article, an electron microscope study has been made of vacancy loops formed as a result of displacement cascade collapse in molybdenum irradiated with 60 keV self-ions.
Journal ArticleDOI

The damage structure formed in molybdenum by irradiation in a fast reactor at 650°c

TL;DR: In this paper, the damage structure of commercially pure and zone-refined molybdenum irradiated in a fast reactor to a total dose of ∼3 × 10 22 n/cm 2 at ∼650°C was studied.
