Bandwidth fragmentation in multimedia cellular network

TL;DR: This paper introduces and investigates the problem of bandwidth fragmentation and explores different methods of minimizing bandwidth fragmentation by proposing a selective call rejection scheme and a multi-class bandwidth sharing scheme.

System and method for remotely controlling device functionality

Abstract: A system and method for automatically altering device functionality based on the occurrence of certain predetermined conditions. A link may be established between a device and a trusted server to provide an association between various conditions that ma be detected at the device and actions that are to be taken on the device. In particular, software traps can be set up and linked to device functionality such that execution of the trap may automatically disable or enable certain device capabilities. Some aspects of the invention are directed to a system and method for remotely setting software traps for detecting software viruses and, upon execution of the traps, several methods for establishin a uarantine on infected devices

CPGPS: congestion-aware packet generalized processor sharing

TL;DR: It is shown that transient congestion can be better handled by temporarily increasing the bandwidth available to the sources of transient congestion before packets belonging to these sources start to be dropped.

InsideOut: Model to Predict Outside CO Concentrations from Mobile CO Dosimeter Measurements Inside Vehicles

TL;DR: In this paper, a new neural network model is proposed to estimate carbon monoxide (CO) concentrations outside vehicle from crowd-sourced CO measurements inside vehicles measured using mobile devices (dosimeters).

Credential generation management servers and method for communications devices and device management servers

TL;DR: In this article, a credential generation algorithm is described, which uses a plurality of seeds, including the hardware identity of the device, the server identity, and a shared private key, to generate two sets of credentials, one to be used by the device and the other being used by a device management server.
