Serial Domestic Abuse

TL;DR: This paper found that serial offenders were disproportionately more harmful than single-time offenders, but no more so than offenders who commit repeat abuse within one relationship, however, serial offenders do have longer overall criminal records and are associated with more crime harm in general crime types.

Repeat Domestic Abuse, Escalation and Concentration of Harm

TL;DR: The authors analysed more than a quarter of a million domestic abuse records taken from four police forces in England and Wales and found that around three quarters of both victims and offenders are only linked to one reported case, indicating issues with tracking or a substantial level of deterrence.
