Journal Article

A parametric regression model for possibly censored lifetime data

TL;DR: In this article, the authors find probabilistic models which describe the behavior of the lifetime of an item as a function of the material properties of the item and its properties over time.
Book ChapterDOI

Majorization in IRn

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors describe the relationship between majorization as defined by HLP (i.e., (1.1)) and averaging, and the results of the present paper will be attributed to those authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Variance estimation with diffuse prior information

TL;DR: In this article, the problem of estimating the variance based on a random sample from a normal distribution with mean μ and variance σ = 1/τ was considered and it was shown that under various schemes of diffuse prior information of τ, the obtained estimates for σ2 turn out to be inferior in a mean squared error sense to the known classical estimates.
Book ChapterDOI

Conditionals in Exponential Families

TL;DR: The key reference for the present chapter is Arnold and Strauss (1991), however, it should be mentioned that results due to Besag (1974) in a stochastic process setting anticipate some of the observations in this chapter.
