Journal ArticleDOI
Gabapentin attenuates late but not early postoperative pain after thyroidectomy with superficial cervical plexus block.
Nicolas Brogly,Jean-Michel Wattier,Grégoire Andrieu,Daliana Peres,Emanuel Robin,Eric Kipnis,Laurent Arnalsteen,Béatrice Thielemans,Bruno Carnaille,François Pattou,Benoit Vallet,Gilles Lebuffe +11 more
TL;DR: Oral preoperative administration of gabapentin did not modify immediate pain management in thyroidectomy patients receiving SCPB, but prevented delayed neuropathic pain at 6 mo.
Journal ArticleDOI
Small intestine intramucosal PCO(2) and microvascular blood flow during hypoxic and ischemic hypoxia.
TL;DR: Small intestine intramucosal PCO (2) increases may indicate systemic oxygen uptake supply limitation in ischemic and hypoxic hypoxia related to conditions of mucosal flow stagnation and CO(2) generation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Central venous-to-arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure difference in early resuscitation from septic shock: a prospective observational study.
Jihad Mallat,Florent Pepy,Malcolm Lemyze,Gaëlle Gasan,Nicolas Vangrunderbeeck,Laurent Tronchon,Benoit Vallet,Didier Thevenin +7 more
TL;DR: Monitoring &Dgr;PCO2 may be a useful tool to assess the adequacy of tissue perfusion during resuscitation after resuscitation in the very early phase of septic shock and is associated with a greater decrease in blood lactate concentration than ScvO2 alone.
Journal ArticleDOI
Predictive Factors for Rhabdomyolysis after Bariatric Surgery
S Lagandré,Laurent Arnalsteen,Benoit Vallet,E. Robin,T. Jany,B Onraed,François Pattou,Gilles Lebuffe +7 more
TL;DR: After surgery for obesity, the risk of RML increases with prolonged surgery (>4 hours) and in diabetic obese patients with BMI >40 kg/m2 and in patient ASA physical status III or IV who were matched for other risk characteristics.
Journal ArticleDOI
Ratios of central venous-to-arterial carbon dioxide content or tension to arteriovenous oxygen content are better markers of global anaerobic metabolism than lactate in septic shock patients
Jihad Mallat,Malcolm Lemyze,Mehdi Meddour,Florent Pepy,Gaëlle Gasan,Stéphanie Barrailler,Emmanuelle Durville,Johanna Temime,Nicolas Vangrunderbeeck,Laurent Tronchon,Benoit Vallet,Didier Thevenin +11 more
TL;DR: ∆ContCO2/ ∆ContO2 and ∆PCO2/∆ ContO2 ratios are more reliable markers of global anaerobic metabolism than lactate and ScvO2 failed to predict the presence of global tissue hypoxia.
