Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome parameters for trials in atrial fibrillation: executive summary.
Paulus Kirchhof,Angelo Auricchio,Jeroen J. Bax,Harry J.G.M. Crijns,John Camm,Hans-Christoph Diener,Andreas Goette,Gerd Hindricks,Stefan H. Hohnloser,Lukas Kappenberger,Karl Heinz Kuck,Gregory Y.H. Lip,Bertil Olsson,Thomas Meinertz,Silvia G. Priori,Ursula Ravens,Gerhard Steinbeck,Elisabeth Svernhage,Jan Tijssen,Alphons Vincent,Günter Breithardt +20 more
TL;DR: An expert consensus of required outcome parameters in seven relevant outcome domains, namely death, stroke, symptoms and quality of life, rhythm, left ventricular function, cost, and emerging outcome parameters, are described.
Journal ArticleDOI
Outcome parameters for trials in atrial fibrillation: recommendations from a consensus conference organized by the German Atrial Fibrillation Competence NETwork and the European Heart Rhythm Association.
Paulus Kirchhof,Angelo Auricchio,Jeroen J. Bax,Harry J.G.M. Crijns,John Camm,Hans-Christoph Diener,Andreas Goette,Gerd Hindricks,Stefan H. Hohnloser,Lukas Kappenberger,Karl Heinz Kuck,Gregory Y.H. Lip,Bertil Olsson,Thomas Meinertz,Silvia G. Priori,Ursula Ravens,Gerhard Steinbeck,Elisabeth Svernhage,Jan G.P. Tijssen,Alphons Vincent,Günter Breithardt +20 more
TL;DR: An expert consensus is described of required outcome parameters in seven relevant outcome domains, namely death, stroke, symptoms and quality of life, rhythm, left ventricular function, cost, and emerging outcome parameters for outcome assessment in AF trials.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cerebral lesions on magnetic resonance imaging, heart disease, and vascular risk factors in subjects without stroke. A population-based study
Arne Lindgren,Anders Roijer,O. Rudling,Bo Norrving,Elna-Marie Larsson,Jan Eskilsson,Lena Wallin,Bertil Olsson,Barbro B. Johansson +8 more
TL;DR: White matter hyperintensities and potential cardioembolic sources are frequently present in asymptomatic individuals, stressing the need for age-matched control subjects in studies of patients with stroke or dementia.
Journal ArticleDOI
Cost effectiveness of primary stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation: Swedish national perspective.
TL;DR: Treatment with anticoagulants and, if contraindications exist, with aspirin is cost effective provided that the risk of serious haemorrhage complications due to anticoaggulants is kept low.
Journal ArticleDOI
T peak - T end Interval as an Index of Global Dispersion of Ventricular Repolarization: Evaluations Using Monophasic Action Potential Mapping of the Epi- and Endocardium in Swine
TL;DR: The maximal Tpeak-Tend interval may be used as a noninvasive estimate for the global DVR, but not the QTpeak and QTend dispersions, nor the mean T peak to the end of the T wave and that from a single lead.
