Modelling nitrogen, primary production and oxygen in a Mediterranean lagoon. Impact of oysters farming and inputs from the watershed

TL;DR: In this article, an ecosystem model based on nitrogen cycling and oxygen has been developed for the Thau lagoon, a semi-confined system with watershed inputs and oyster farming.
Journal ArticleDOI

Journal ArticleDOI

Unexpected spatial impact of treatment plant discharges induced by episodic hydrodynamic events: Modelling Lagrangian transport of fine particles by Northern Current intrusions in the bays of Marseille (France)

TL;DR: This study highlights the Lagrangian transport of solid particles discharged at the Marseille Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP), located at Cortiou on the southern coastline, and proposes a conceptual diagram to highlight the mechanisms of dispersion within the bays of Marseille of the fine particles released at the WWTP outlet that have long been underestimated.

Phytoplankton Variability in Summer in the Northwestern Mediterranean: Modelling of the Wind and Freshwater Impacts

TL;DR: In this paper, a coupling between a 3D mesoscale hydrodynamic model and a biogeochemical model was performed in the northwestern Mediterranean to reproduce the major processes of carbon and nitrogen cycles involved in the new production of phytoplankton biomass, focused on simulating the real conditions of the EURHOGLI campaign, performed in summer in the Gulf of Lions (June-July 19831).
Journal ArticleDOI

Hydrodynamic Modeling of the Roman Harbor of Portus in the Tiber Delta: The Impact of the North‐Eastern Channel on Current and Sediment Dynamics

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the hydrodynamics of the Roman harbor of Portus during the Trajanic period (second century A.D.) and evaluated the impact of the north-eastern channel on water circulation and sediment resuspension within the harbor in relation to the problem of sediment infilling.
