Antibiotic resistance assessment in bacteria isolated in migratory Passeriformes transiting through the Metaponto territory (Basilicata, Italy)

TL;DR: The results suggest that the integration of epidemiological surveillance networks during ringing campaigns of wild species can be an effective tool to study the frequency of isolation and antimicrobial susceptibility profiles of microorganisms found in the cloaca of common European passerines.
Journal ArticleDOI

The gamma-2-herpesvirus bovine herpesvirus 4 causes apoptotic infection in permissive cell lines.

TL;DR: Despite the presence of antiapoptotic genes in its genoma, BHV-4 could complete its cycle of productive infection while inducing apoptosis of infected cells and this finding might have implications for the pathobiology of BHv-4 and other gammaherpesviruses in vivo.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effectiveness of Thymus vulgaris Essential Oil in the Treatment of Skin Infections in Dogs

TL;DR: In all animals treated with Thymus vulgaris EO, the clinical signs decreased rapidly within 5 days from the administration, with complete remission 7 days after the treatment, and no bacterial growth was observed from skin swabs after 7 days of treatment.
