Posted ContentDOI
Study of the threshold for the POT method based on hindcasted significant wave heights of tropical cyclone waves in the South China Sea
TL;DR: In this article, a 40-year hindcasted significant wave height of tropical cyclone waves is adopted as the initial database and the assessing method is used to extrapolate appropriate return significant wave heights based on this database during a period.
Journal ArticleDOI
Analysis of Komen scheme in the SWAN model for the whitecapping dissipation during the tropical cyclone
TL;DR: In this paper , a tropical cyclone is simulated by the Simulating WAves Nearshore (SWAN) model in the Yellow Sea, the East China Sea and the northern South China Sea where tropical cyclones frequently occur.
Journal ArticleDOI
Whitecapping term analysis of extreme wind wave modelling considering spectral characteristics and water depth
TL;DR: In this paper , the basic setting and whitecapping term of the Simulating WAves Nearshore (SWAN) model are analyzed to model tropical cyclone waves, with spectral characteristics and water depth taken into account.
Journal ArticleDOI
Scour at a Submerged Square Pile in Various Flow Depths under Steady Flow
TL;DR: In this paper , the influence of the submergence ratio on local scour around a square pile in steady flow was studied and it was shown that the maximum scour depth was always at the upstream corner points rather than at the symmetry center point of the pile.
