Automatic voltage regulator using TLBO algorithm optimized PID controller

TL;DR: The optimum gain of the controller for the proposed model is obtained with objective function as Integral Time Absolute Error (ITAE), and the performance of the system is found to be better in every aspect in terms of the settling point, rise point & peak overshoot.
Book ChapterDOI

Performance Comparison of SMO-Based Fuzzy PID Controller for Load Frequency Control

TL;DR: This paper presents dynamic performance comparison of a fuzzy logic-based proportional, integral, and derivative controller with different membership functions such as triangular, trapezoidal, and Gaussian for load frequency control (LFC) in an interconnected two-area thermal power system.
Proceedings ArticleDOI

Design and implementation of SSA based fractional order PID controller for automatic generation control of a multi-area, multi-source interconnected power system

TL;DR: The optimal gains and the fractional order parameters such as integrator order (k) and differentiator order of the projected FOPID controller are optimized employing a recently developed Salp Swarm Algorithm (SSA) using integral time absolute error as objective function.
Journal ArticleDOI

Employment of quasi oppositional SSA-based two-degree-of-freedom fractional order PID controller for AGC of assorted source of generations

TL;DR: A novel quasi-oppositional-based salp swarm algorithm (QSSA) is used to obtain the optimal values of controllers for automatic generation control of the two-area, assorted source of the generation-based power system and it is evidenced that QSSA outperforms SSA and also the QS SA-based 2DOF-FOPID controller establishes a better dynamic response than other controllers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design of MI fuzzy PID controller optimized by Modified Group Hunting Search algorithm for interconnected power system

TL;DR: This paper validated the multi inputs (two inputs) fuzzy PID (MIFPID) controller as automatic generation control (AGC) over two disparate consolidation of single input FPID (SifPID-1 and SIFPIDs) controller for a two area interconnected power system.
