Sustainable development is development that meets the needs of the present, without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. Sustainability indicators are based on the attempt to measure or determine the path of development of the economy in two directions: sustaining human wellbeing, or preserving the capacity to provide wellbeing. The research has been conducted to assess sustainability in the Southeast Europe, represented with a group of 10 countries with the 15 multi-metric indicators. A cluster analysis was performed on the set of indices to check the formation of distinctive clusters. Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Macedonia, Montenegro and Serbia constitute frst cluster, proving small differences among data. Second cluster consists of Bulgaria, Croatia and Romania, while last cluster consists of only Greece and Slovenia.

Assessing sustainability of the southeast european economies

Serbian dairy processing sector is passing through signifcant structural changes in last couple decades. Concentration, vertical coordination and integration become a main characteristics. The main goal of the paper is to explore technical effciency of 91 Serbian dairy processors in sample by non-parametric method Data envelopment analysis. Data were collected from financial reports of dairy companies in 2015. All dairy companies were divided in 4 groups: micro, small, middle and big. The empirical results indicate that 16.5% of companies were technically effcient. This study shows that efficient companies exist across all size groups, and while small companies suffer from input ineffciency and insufficient size of business, the bigger companies are over invested.

Technical efficiency of serbian dairy processing industry

Tourism represents the fastest growing branch of economy, which is focused on the realization of economic effects. In the previous period of tourism development, no account was taken of natural resources and the environment. Contemporary trends indicate the existence of a growing demand for preserved natural resources аnd ecologically clean environment. This trend has caused sustainable tourism development, which will establish a positive relationship between the tourism development and the preservation of the environment. This paper presents the fundamentals of sustainable tourism development. Serbia’s mountain areas have a preserved potential of natural resources and the environment, which are the basis for the development of sustainable tourism. The aim of paper is to analyze the previous tourism development of mountain tourist destinations in Serbia, such as Kopaonik and Tara. The indicators of sustainable tourism are tested in this paper, and the results will show whether the previous tourism development in these areas was sustainable or unsustainable.

Sustainable tourism development of mountain tourism destinations in serbia

Environment, whether directly or indirectly is a casualty of armed conflict. As occured in Vietnam War 1961-1975, Gulf War 1991, Cosovo Conflct 1999, Iraqi War 2003 and Israel-Lebanon War 2006. UNEP concluded that armed conflict arise dangerous consequences to the environment. Environmental damage after warfare is often irreversible because the states think that environmental damage is an unavoidable consequence in order to achieve military targets.
This research aims are to search international treaty and general principles in international humanitarian law that regulated environment protection during the armed conflict. Based on the research result it can be known that environment protection during the armed conflict has already regulated completely in international humanitarian law, not only in general agreement of humanitarian law (hag laws and geneva laws) but also in special agreement on environment protection during armed conflict, in the form of restriction on means and weapons that can be used in armed conflict. The regulation and enforcement of environment protection can be rely on general principles of international humanitarian law.

The survival of a company on the market is possible if there is a good company managing, led by agile and professional management. Company development is a general objective and it can be achieved if the management of the company managed to establish their own style of organization and management. In addition to the aforesaid, the management should have a developed system of internal control within the regular and continuous business operations. Our contribution is reflected in the presentation of mode of managing nursery-garden plant production, using internal control for the benefits of management. We found that the application of detected risks in said production could be presented and illustrated in a range of risks, all of it with the aim of making management decisions that will reduce the overall risk of an agricultural company's business operations.

Managing agricultural company by using internal control and significance of risk presentation

The work is a synthesis of three important aspects in the approach to the environment, on the basis of which it is possible to meet its normative definition and understanding of the situation in practice. Given this basis it is possible to separate international, general and criminal legal area of its normative regulation. Each of these aspects is equally important in getting to know the area of the environment in our country. Hence, it is used in expanding the methodological approach which comprises a number of methods (legal, social, statistically, systematically et al.). In addition to the theoretical part of the work an important aspect is the research pertinent to scope and dynamics of criminal acts against the environment in the country. The results are tabulated on the basis of which conclusions are derived as well as suggestions de le ferenda. Timeframe of the research covers the period 2011-2015. year and is based on information contained in the bulletins RSO. We believe that the five-year period in determining the oscillating trends in the field of criminal law protection of the environment provides sufficient referral. In the final part of the paper, a detailed analysis of material is presented as well as a critical review of the presence of inconsistency between the normative and the real situation in the field of environmental protection.

Environmental protection in the light of discrepancy between the normative and the reality

The air quality, in general, has an important impact on the development of rural areas, and sustainable rural development. Air quality is a very important parameter both for sustainable rural development and for life on earth in general. In this context, it is interesting to analyze the correlation between sustainable rural development and the state of air quality dependent on the amount of pollutant concentration, expressed by the air quality index SAQI_11. The main attention in the research was focused on the analysis of the numerical values of pollutants concentrations, for the period of averaging - 24h and the calendar year, in accordance with the classes of the Air Quality Index SAQI_11, and the analysis of the air quality trend by zones and agglomerations for the period 2012-2015. Conclusions on air quality, SAQI_11 air quality index classes, and on correlation with sustainable rural development were carried out for agglomerations “Novi Sad”, “Belgrade”, “Pancevo”, “Smederevo”, “Bor”, “Kosjeric”, “Uzice” and “Nis “.

Correlation between the air quality index saqi_11 and sustainable rural development in the republic of serbia

Preservation of agricultural land as an imperative of prosperity of agriculture of the Republic of Serbia needs to be observed through causal questions as well, such as change of purpose of agricultural land into construction land, which is necessarily followed by conversion, a decade-long problem. Insufficiently resolved current questions of the aforementioned within legislative framework open up the possibility for improper use and exploitation of agricultural land. It is necessary to regulate the issue of conversion of construction land by legislative regulations i.e. altering use rights into property rights on construction land, and by doing so, open the way to investments in the Republic of Serbia. With the analysis of the effects of conversion and the adoption of a special law on this issue, construction activity would further prosper. The aim of this paper is to assess adequately the current problems of consumption, preservation and actual implementation of transferring agricultural land to construction land, with a view of the facts, practices and tendencies.
