A method for assaying the antioxidant capacity of a sample

TL;DR: In this article, a method of assaying the antioxidant capacity of a sample was proposed, the method including preparing an extraction solution including a solubility anhancing compound, adding the sample to the extraction solution, extracting the antioxidants present in the sample, adding a fluorescent probe to the extract, and detecting the fluorescence intensity decay of the probe in the presence of the sample over time.
Journal ArticleDOI

Decrease of free radical concentrations in humans following consumption of a high antioxidant capacity natural product

TL;DR: The aim was to investigate whether the total ROS in human subjects can be quantified using DHR6G after intake of a blend of antioxidants-rich fruit and vegetable-based materials and data indicate that eleven participants responded to the intake of Spectra™ by significant decreases of ROS concentrations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Rapid quantitation of avenanthramides in oat-containing products by high-performance liquid chromatography coupled with triple quadrupole mass spectrometry (HPLC-TQMS).

TL;DR: The LC-MS/MS method presented here provides a novel and rapid tool to quantitate the abundance of AVN 2c, 2p, and 2f in oat-containing products.
Journal ArticleDOI

A Novel Approach for Measurement of Total Reactive Oxidant Species (ROS) In Vivo by A Fluorometric Method

TL;DR: In this article, a single dose of 100 mg of CoffeeBerry® whole coffee fruit extract containing high levels of antioxidants was given to six healthy participants to verify an acute effect of the treatment on ROS serum level.

Method for comprehensively evaluating antioxidant ability of cosmetics

TL;DR: In this paper, a method for comprehensively evaluating the antioxidant ability of cosmetics, comprising of preparing a series of emulsion-like base materials, dissolving cosmetics samples in the different base materials and uniformly mixed, adding detection agents for different free radicals and corresponding active oxygen/active nitrogen generation agents, respectively, is presented.
