Abstract: We describe the echocardiographic features of a rare pericardial hematoma causing elevated venous pressure in a patient who had suffered blunt chest trauma in the past. Transesophageal echocardiography demonstrated a large, partially calcified mass in the right cardiophrenic angle impinging on the tricuspid annulus and facilitated intraoperative assessment of surgical resection.
