Journal ArticleDOI
P188 Heterogeneity of large and small airway remodeling in human endstage explant cystic fibrosis lungs
Astrid Vermaut,Vincent Geudens,Linda Willems,J. Kaes,Hanne Beeckmans,C. Hooft,Julie Verhaegen,Guus Aerts,Lore Ceulemans,Rémon Vos,Bart M. Vanaudenaerde,L. Dupont,M. Boon +12 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors studied heterogeneity in visible airway remodeling, ranging from little (bronchiolitic) to extensive bronchiectasis, and investigated if this remodeling is associated with a different type of small airway disease.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mapping the Diversity of the Innate Immune System over Time After Left Lung Transplantation in Mice
J. Kaes,Emilie Pollenus,Celine Aelbrecht,Vincent Geudens,Arno Vanstapel,C. Hooft,Tobias Heigl,Seppe Cambier,Linda Willems,Jan Van Slambrouck,Hanne Beeckmans,Annelore Sacreas,Dirk Van Raemdonck,Philippe E. Van den Steen,Laurens J. Ceulemans,Robin Vos,Bart M. Vanaudenaerde +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper , the authors investigated the diversity of emerging innate immune cells and the timing of their appearance in a murine orthotopic left lung transplant model and found that the surgical intervention with ischemic periods and the foreign allograft are the first to trigger a response from the innate immune system, which represents the primary nonspecific defense against non-self.
Journal ArticleDOI
Immunological Overlap Between Rejection and Infection in Murine Lung Transplantation
J. Kaes,Emiel Vanhulle,Laura Seldeslachts,C. Hooft,Hanne Beeckmans,Xi Jin,P. Kerckhof,Jan Van Slambrouck,Dirk Van Raemdonck,Greetje Vande Velde,Leslie Naesens,Dominique Schols,Laurens J. Ceulemans,Robin Vos,Kurt Vermeire,Bart M. Vanaudenaerde +15 more
Journal ArticleDOI
Endothelial Cell Injury and Activation in a Murine Model of Left Lung Transplantation
J. Kaes,Emilie Pollenus,Celine Aelbrecht,Vincent Geudens,Arno Vanstapel,Tobias Heigl,C. Hooft,Seppe Cambier,Linda Willems,Jan Van Slambrouck,Hanne Beeckmans,Annelore Sacreas,Dirk Van Raemdonck,Philippe E. Van den Steen,Laurens J. Ceulemans,Robin Vos,Bart M. Vanaudenaerde +16 more
TL;DR: In this paper , a mouse orthotopic left lung transplant was performed in isografts (C57BL/6 to C57BL /6) and allograft (Balbc to C 57BL/ 6) and was serially sacrificed at day 1, 7 and 35 post-transplant (n=6/timepoint/group).
