Effect of Diaphragms on Regression Rate in Hybrid Rocket Motors

TL;DR: In this work, single-port, cylindrical grain laboratory-scale hybrid rocket motors are numerically simulated to study the effect of diaphragms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of swirl on the regression rate in hybrid rocket motors

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of swirl on regression rate (r b ) in a hybrid rocket motor is investigated numerically, and it is shown that swirl is more effective in improving the average r b for short grains (L / D 5 ) and large diameter grains.

A Computational Study on the Scale Effects of Hybrid Rocket Motors

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical investigation was carried out for physics based identification of key parameters that govern scaling of single cylindrical port hybrid rocket motors, and the grain port length to port diameter (or L/D) ratio was found to be a key scaling parameter along with maintaining oxidizer mass flux (G OX ) for near identical motor performance.
