Journal ArticleDOI

Cathodic electrodeposition of cerium-based oxides on carbon steel from concentrated cerium nitrate solutions: Part I. Electrochemical and analytical characterisation

TL;DR: In this paper, the elaboration by cathodic electrodeposition of cerium-based oxides on carbon steel from relatively concentrated cerium nitrate solutions is investigated, and the electrochemical and analytical characterisation of the films and the correlations between electrochemical features and the characteristics of the layers are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Consequence of the diffusive hydrogen contents on tensile properties of martensitic steel during the desorption at room temperature

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors identify the evolution of different hydrogen states in a quenched and tempered martensitic steel during the desorption phase and evaluate their effects on the mechanical behavior in a simple tensile test on smooth specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI

Influence of metallurgical states on the corrosion behaviour of Al–Zn PVD coatings in saline solution

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors define the corrosion behavior of different Al-Zn coatings, deposited by magnetron sputtering, and characterise the coatings exhibiting the best corrosion resistance during long immersion tests in neutral 5.5% NaCl solution.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corrosion behaviour of magnetron-sputtered Al1−x–Mnx coatings in neutral saline solution

TL;DR: In this article, the pitting corrosion resistance of Al-Mn coatings increased with increasing Mn content, and the open circuit potentials were progressively shifted towards positive values. But they did not reveal that for all Mn contents, Al-mns coatings keep a sacrificial character compared with steel.
Journal ArticleDOI

Nanostructured aluminium based coatings deposited by electron-beam evaporative PVD

TL;DR: In this article, an electron-beam evaporative PVD technique was used to develop sacrificial protection of steel flat products, which is compatible with a roll-to-roll process on large flat substrates because of high deposition rates.
