Abstract: The aim of this publication is to put forward a process for treating hydrochloric acid waste pickle liquors produced in steel‐rolling processes. The most suitable process for treating these liquors first involves recovering the acid they contain, so that this may be recirculated to the pickling baths. Processes currently exist for recovering hydrochloric acid, and in percentage terms are able to recover up to 90% of the acid, but these processes still leave behind a waste stream with a high iron content which also needs to be dealt with. The recovery of iron from the liquor is carried out by means of an oxyprecipitation reaction, using air as oxidizing agent and ammonia as basic agent.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors analyzed the more important factors to be taken account when selecting the site best suitable for the disposal of USW Environmental impact, life span, access, transport, exploitation, sealing and shutting are analized and a final valuation is made in order to show recommendations that may be needed to select the best site.
Abstract: Sanitary landfill is an enginereed method of disposing of solid waste on land in a manner that protects the environment, by spreading the waste in thin layers, compacting it to the smallest practical volume, and covering it with compacted soil by the end of each working day or at more frequent intervals if necessary Sanitary landfill are and will continue to be the principal method of urban solid waste (USW) disposal becouse the relatively inexpensive equipment required to operate and the possibility to reuse the site once the landfill has been sealed and shut The aspect more relevant to take account when this tecnhique is used is the location of the disposal area This works analyzes the more important factors to be taken account when selecting the site best suitable for the disposal of USW Environmental impact, life span, access, transport, exploitation, sealing and shutting are analized and a final valuation is made in order to show recommendations that may be needed to select the best
