Journal ArticleDOI
Colonoscopy versus Fecal Immunochemical Testing in Colorectal-Cancer Screening
Enrique Quintero,Antoni Castells,Luis Bujanda,Joaquín Cubiella,Dolores Salas,Angel Lanas,Montserrat Andreu,Fernando Carballo,Juan Diego Morillas,Cristina Hernández,Rodrigo Jover,Isabel Montalvo,Juan Arenas,Eva Laredo,Vicent Hernandez,Felipe Iglesias,Estela Cid,Raquel Zubizarreta,Teresa Sala,Marta Ponce,Mercedes Andrés,Gloria Teruel,Antonio Peris,María-Pilar Roncales,Mónica Polo-Tomás,Xavier Bessa,Olga Ferrer-Armengou,Jaume Grau,Anna Serradesanferm,Akiko Ono,José Cruzado,Francisco Pérez-Riquelme,Inmaculada Alonso-Abreu,Mariola de la Vega-Prieto,Juana María Reyes-Melián,Guillermo Cacho,José Díaz-Tasende,Alberto Herreros-de-Tejada,Carmen Poves,Cecilio Santander,Andrés González-Navarro +40 more
TL;DR: Subjects in the FIT group were more likely to participate in screening than were those in the colonoscopy group, and more adenomas were identified in thecolorectal cancer group.
Journal ArticleDOI
Colorectal cancer risk factors in patients with serrated polyposis syndrome: a large multicentre study
Sabela Carballal,Daniel Rodríguez-Alcalde,Leticia Moreira,Luis Hernández,Lorena Rodríguez,Francisco Rodríguez-Moranta,Victoria Gonzalo,Luis Bujanda,Xavier Bessa,Carmen Poves,Joaquín Cubiella,Inés Castro,Mariano González,Eloisa Moya,Susana Oquiñena,Joan Clofent,Enrique Quintero,Pilar Esteban,Virginia Piñol,F. Fernandez,Rodrigo Jover,Lucía Cid,María López-Cerón,Miriam Cuatrecasas,Jorge López-Vicente,Maria Liz Leoz,Liseth Rivero-Sánchez,Antoni Castells,Maria Pellise,Francesc Balaguer +29 more
TL;DR: Specific polyp features (SSA/P histology, proximal location and presence of high-grade dysplasia) should be used to guide clinical management and patients with SPS have an increased risk of CRC, although lower than previously published.
Journal ArticleDOI
Relationship of colonoscopy-detected serrated polyps with synchronous advanced neoplasia in average-risk individuals.
Cristina Alvarez,Montserrat Andreu,Antoni Castells,Enrique Quintero,Luis Bujanda,Joaquín Cubiella,Dolores Salas,Angel Lanas,Fernando Carballo,Juan Diego Morillas,Cristina Hernández,Rodrigo Jover,Cristina Sarasqueta,José María Enríquez-Navascués,Vicent Hernandez,Pamela Estévez,Ramiro Macenlle,Teresa Sala,Francesc Balaguer,Maria Pellise,Leticia Moreira,Inés Gil,Antonio Peris,Francisca González-Rubio,Angel Ferrandez,Carmen Poves,Marta Ponce,Jaume Grau,Anna Serradesanferm,Akiko Ono,José Cruzado,Francisco Pérez-Riquelme,Inmaculada Alonso-Abreu,Marta Carrillo-Palau,Cecilio Santander,José Díaz Tasende,Alberto Herreros,Guillermo Cacho,Luis Barranco,Xavier Bessa +39 more
TL;DR: LSPs, but not proximal serrated polyps, are associated with the presence of synchronous advanced neoplasia, and further studies are needed to determine the risk of proximal hyperplastic polyps.
Journal ArticleDOI
Toward Liquid Biopsy: Determination of the Humoral Immune Response in Cancer Patients Using HaloTag Fusion Protein-Modified Electrochemical Bioplatforms.
María Garranzo-Asensio,Ana Guzman-Aranguez,Carmen Poves,María Jesús Fernández-Aceñero,Rebeca M. Torrente-Rodríguez,Víctor Ruiz-Valdepeñas Montiel,Gemma Domínguez,Luis San Frutos,Nuria Rodríguez,Mayte Villalba,José M. Pingarrón,Susana Campuzano,Rodrigo Barderas +12 more
TL;DR: The developed biosensor was able to determine p53 autoantibodies with a sensitivity higher than that of a commercial standard ELISA using a just-in-time produced protein in a simpler protocol with less sample volume and easily miniaturized and cost-effective instrumentation.
Journal ArticleDOI
High incidence of advanced colorectal neoplasia during endoscopic surveillance in serrated polyposis syndrome
Daniel Rodríguez-Alcalde,Sabela Carballal,Leticia Moreira,Luis Hernández,Lorena Rodríguez-Alonso,Francisco Rodríguez-Moranta,Victoria Gonzalo,Luis Bujanda,Xavier Bessa,Carmen Poves,Joaquín Cubiella,Inés Castro,Mariano González,Eloisa Moya,Susana Oquiñena,Joan Clofent,Enrique Quintero,Pilar Esteban,Virginia Piñol,F. Fernandez,Rodrigo Jover,Lucía Cid,Esteve Saperas,María López-Cerón,Miriam Cuatrecasas,Jorge López-Vicente,Liseth Rivero-Sánchez,Gerhard Jung,Maria Vila-Casadesús,Ariadna Sánchez,Antoni Castells,Maria Pellise,Francesc Balaguer +32 more
TL;DR: Patients with SPS have a substantial risk of developing advanced neoplasia under endoscopic surveillance, whereas CRC incidence is low, and personalized endoscopic Surveillance based on polyp burden and advanced serrated histology could help to optimize prevention in patients with S PS.
