Aqueous corrosion studies of a fluorozirconate glass

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of aqueous corrosion on a fluorozirconate glass containing ZrF4, BaF2, AlF3, LaF3 and LiF were investigated using soaking solution analysis, infrared transmission and reflectance spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Dielectric Relaxation in High‐Silica Borosilicate Glasses

TL;DR: In this article, Borosilicate glasses with high silica and varying water content were made by a process similar to that of Vycor, and dielectric relaxation measurements showed a de-conduction activation energy equal to the activation energy of fused silica, no apparent dependence of the dc conductivity on water content, and an unexpectedly narrow relaxation time distribution equivalent to a simple RC circuit element.
Journal ArticleDOI

Conductivity Behavior of High‐Silica Glasses with Varied Concentrations of Sodium Ions

TL;DR: In this paper, the low-frequency conductivity of silica glasses containing 5% B2O3 and from 0.02 to 6.7% Na2O is extrapolated to dc values and analyzed in terms of temperature and concentration dependence.
