Journal ArticleDOI

Evaluation of Antioxidant Properties of Phaulopsis fascisepala C.B.Cl. (Acanthaceae)

TL;DR: In vitro tests revealed the in vitro antioxidant activity of P. fascisepala leaf extract, which showed less scavenging effect on α,α,diphenyl-β-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) radical and less reducing power on Fe3+/ferricyanide complex but better Fe2+-chelating ability.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimalarial potentials of Stemonocoleus micranthus Harms (leguminoseae) stem bark in Plasmodium berghei infected mice.

TL;DR: The results of this study may have provided support on traditional therapeutic use of the plant in treatment of malaria by exhibiting antioxidant potentials which could have contributed individually or synergistically to antimalarial activities reported in this study.
Journal ArticleDOI

Antimalarial and antioxidant potentials of extract and fractions of aerial part of borreria ocymoides DC (Rubiaceae).

TL;DR: The results indicated that the extract has a potent anti-plasmodial activity against Plasmodium berghei and the activity seems to reside in the mid-polar fractions, indicating that the plant is a potential source of new antimalarial agents.
Journal ArticleDOI

Analgesic and Antioxidant Activities of Stem Bark Extract and Fractions of Petersianthus macrocarpus.

TL;DR: The findings of the study suggested that the methanol extract has strong analgesic and antioxidant activities which reside mainly in the polar fractions thus confirming the traditional use of the plant to alleviate pains.
