Journal ArticleDOI

A simple methodology for the determination of fatty acid composition in edible oils through 1H NMR spectroscopy

TL;DR: The methodology was successfully applied to determine the fatty acid composition of several edible oils, with equivalent results to those given by the AOAC Official method by gas chromatography.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structure Confirmation of a Bioactive Lactone Isolated from Otoba parvifolia through the Synthesis of a Model Compound

TL;DR: Synthesis of a model compound 4 structurally related to a bioactive lactone 3 isolated from Otoba parvifolia has been accomplished and the good match between the NMR data of both compounds suggests they have identical bicyclic [3.3.1] carbon skeletons.
Journal ArticleDOI

Differentiation of five pine species cultivated in Brazil based on chemometric analysis of their volatiles identified by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry

TL;DR: In this article, the volatiles present in samples of the branches of five species of Pinus (P. caribaea, P. elliottii, P maximinoi, P patula and P. taeda) were collected by aeration, and the contents analyzed by gas chromatography using a flame ionization detector (GC-FID), applying non-polar and chiral column phases, and mass spectrometry (GCMS) using a quadrupole mass analyzer.
Journal ArticleDOI

2-oxazolinas quirais: algumas aplicações como indutores de assimetria em reações orgânicas

TL;DR: In this article, the authors summarized how chiral 2-oxazolines have been employed as inducers of asymmetry in many kinds of organic reactions, including the more recent examples reported in which chiral bis(oxoxolines) have been complexed in situ with transition metals and utilized to induce the stereoselectivity of some reactions.
