Evaluation of sustainable high-volume fly ash concretes

TL;DR: In this paper, the potential benefits of the synergistic effect of an ASTM C 618 Class F fly ash (FA) and a high-range polycarboxylate superplasticizer (SP) in the production of conventional concrete are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Thermal properties of high-volume fly ash mortars and concretes:

TL;DR: In this paper, the utilization of high-volume fly ash concrete mixtures to reduce CO2 emissions and cement consumption per unit volume of concrete placed in construction sites is discussed, with the aim of reducing the use of fly ash materials.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance of “Agave lecheguilla” natural fiber in portland cement composites exposed to severe environment conditions

TL;DR: In this paper, a sustainable portland cement-based composite material, reinforced with high tensile strength natural fibers of “Agave lecheguilla”, was proposed to provide the housing alternatives to istle zone rural areas in Mexico, which represent about 10% of the national territory.
Journal ArticleDOI

Ultimate and nominal shear strength in reinforced concrete beams deteriorated by corrosion

TL;DR: In this paper, two groups of eight beams each were fabricated, and had a separation of either 150 or 200 mm between stirrups for each series, and a 100 µA/cm 2 printed current was applied for either 80 (moderate) or 120 (severe) days in order to reach different levels of corrosion in the Stirrups.
