Simple correlation for estimating the global solar radiation on horizontal surfaces in India

TL;DR: In this paper, a long range five years (2001-2005) measured data of the global solar radiation on horizontal surface along with the bright sunshine hours of four prominent cities viz. Jodhpur, Calcutta, Bombay, and Pune of India have been analyzed.
Journal ArticleDOI

A comparative study to estimate daily diffuse solar radiation over India

TL;DR: A detailed study of monthly average daily diffuse solar radiation for selected Indian locations have been performed using five years (2001-2005) measured data as discussed by the authors, where correlations between the diffuse fraction (Hd/H) and the sunshine fraction (S/S0) have been developed using regression analysis method for each selected location as well as for all Indian locations, call it All India Correlation (AIC).
Journal ArticleDOI

A Review of Solar Radiation Models—Part I

TL;DR: A review of different solar radiation models which predict global solar radiation and discussed the long-term plan to meet future energy demand with renewable energy due to economy growth is presented in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

A note on diffuse solar radiation on a tilted surface

Chanchal Kumar Pandey, +1 more
- 01 Nov 2009 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors presented a note on comparative study of diffuse component of solar radiation on tilted surface with different angle of inclination using the Circumsolar and Isotropic model and the anisotropic model of Klucher and Hay at Lucknow, India.
Journal ArticleDOI

Solar Radiation: Models and Measurement Techniques

TL;DR: In this article, the authors estimate realistic values of solar (global and diffuse) radiation on horizontal and tilted surfaces using measured meteorological data and geographical and geometrical parameters for India.
