Journal ArticleDOI

Mechanical properties of silanized jute–polypropylene composites

TL;DR: An affordable composite was prepared from jute fibers and polypropylene (PP) in this article, where the surfaces of the jute fiber were silanized to increase the interfacial adhesion between the Jute fiber and the polymer matrix.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effects of polypropylene-g-(maleic anhydride/styrene) compatibilizer on mechanical and rheological properties of polypropylene/clay nanocomposites

TL;DR: In this paper, the X-ray diffraction (XRD) peaks of the organo-modified montmorillonite (O-MMT) were shifted to lower angles by an addition of maleic anhydride (MA) and styrene (ST) with PP.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of carbon nanotubes with different lengths on mechanical and electrical properties of silica-filled styrene butadiene rubber compounds

TL;DR: Carbon nanotubes (CNTs) having three different lengths of 5, 30, and 100μm were added to silica-filled styrene butadiene rubber (SBR) compounds in order to investigate the effect of the CNT addition on the dynamic and electrical properties as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new diagnostic tool for the percolating carbon network in the polymer matrix

TL;DR: In this paper, a simple two-wire transmission line (TL) model with symmetric boundary condition is suggested as working equivalent circuit model for the percolating carbon network in the insulating matrix such as polymer materials.
