Ring-closing metathesis for the synthesis of 2H- and 4H-chromenes
Willem A. L. van Otterlo,E. Lindani Ngidi,Samuel Kuzvidza,Garreth L. Morgans,Simon S. Moleele,Charles B. de Koning +5 more
TL;DR: Six 4H-chromenes were synthesized from substituted phenols using vinylstannylation and ring-closing metathesis (RCM) as key steps and a different approach involving amongst other steps, an aryl allyl isomerization and RCM afforded a set of seven 2H- chromenes from phenolic precursors.
Journal ArticleDOI
An isomerization-ring-closing metathesis strategy for the synthesis of substituted benzofurans
Willem A. L. van Otterlo,Garreth L. Morgans,Lee G. Madeley,Samuel Kuzvidza,Simon S. Moleele,Natalie Thornton,Charles B. de Koning +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, 12 substituted benzofurans were synthesized from their corresponding substituted 1-allyl-2-al-oxybenzenes using ruthenium-mediated C- and O-all isomerization followed by ring-closing metathesis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reformatsky reactions with N-arylpyrrolidine-2-thiones: synthesis of tricyclic analogues of quinolone antibacterial agents
TL;DR: In this article, a zinc-mediated reformatsky reaction between diethyl bromomalonate and N -arylpyrrolidine-2-thiones was used to synthesize quinolone antibiotics.
