Journal ArticleDOI
Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) in children and/or adolescents: a meta-analysis.
Alessandro Mantovani,Elisabetta Rinaldi,Chiara Zusi,Giorgia Beatrice,Marco Deganello Saccomani,Andrea Dalbeni +5 more
TL;DR: Compared to adults, children and/or adolescents tend to have a mild COVID-19 course with a good prognosis, and new and consistence information on the clinical and radiological characteristics of CO VID-19 in pediatrics is provided.
Journal ArticleDOI
Screening for non-alcoholic fatty liver disease using liver stiffness measurement and its association with chronic kidney disease and cardiovascular complications in patients with type 2 diabetes
Alessandro Mantovani,Teresa Turino,Maria Giovanna Lando,Kamela Gjini,Christopher D. Byrne,Chiara Zusi,Federico Ravaioli,Antonio Colecchia,Claudio Maffeis,Gian Luca Salvagno,Giuseppe Lippi,Enzo Bonora,Giovanni Targher +12 more
TL;DR: It is suggested that NAFLD and significant LF are very commonly seen in T2DM outpatients with no known liver disease attending a secondary-care diabetes service, and that increased LF is associated with a greater proportion of chronic vascular complications, especially CKD.
Journal ArticleDOI
Contribution of a genetic risk score to clinical prediction of hepatic steatosis in obese children and adolescents.
Chiara Zusi,Alessandro Mantovani,Francesca Olivieri,Anita Morandi,Massimiliano Corradi,Emanuele Miraglia del Giudice,Marco Dauriz,Luca Valenti,Christopher D. Byrne,Christopher D. Byrne,Giovanni Targher,Claudio Maffeis +11 more
TL;DR: NAFLD was strongly associated with three genetic variants, TM6SF2 rs58542926, PNPLA3 rs738409 and GCKR rs1260326, and more slightly with ELOVL2 rs2236212, in obese children and adolescents.
Journal ArticleDOI
The association of rs4307059 and rs35678 markers with autism spectrum disorders is replicated in Italian families
Paola Prandini,Alessandra Pasquali,Giovanni Malerba,Andrea Marostica,Chiara Zusi,Luciano Xumerle,Pierandrea Muglia,Lucio Da Ros,Emiliangelo Ratti,Elisabetta Trabetti,Pier Franco Pignatti +10 more
TL;DR: A preferential allele transmission of two markers located at loci previously associated with social and verbal communication skill has been confirmed in patients of a new ASD family sample.
Journal ArticleDOI
Association between PNPLA3rs738409 polymorphism decreased kidney function in postmenopausal type 2 diabetic women with or without non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.
Alessandro Mantovani,Chiara Zusi,Elena Sani,Antonio Colecchia,Giuseppe Lippi,Gianluigi Zaza,Luca Valenti,Christopher D. Byrne,Claudio Maffeis,Enzo Bonora,Giovanni Targher +10 more
TL;DR: In post-menopausal women with T2DM, the G/G genotype of rs738409 in the PNPLA3 gene was strongly associated with lower eGFRCKD-EPI and higher prevalence of CKD.
