TL;DR: The efficacy of regular exercise in early pregnancy to prevent gestational diabetes mellitus in Chinese overweight/obese pregnant women was tested and women randomized to the exercise group had a significantly lower incidence of gestational Diabetes mellitus.

Increased hepatic peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor coactivator-1α expression precedes the development of insulin resistance in offspring of rats from severe hyperglycemic mothers.
TL;DR: The hepatic gluconeogenic molecular dysfunction may contribute to the metabolic morbidities experienced by this population of mothers, and is hypothesized to influence her offsprings hepatic peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor coactivator-1α expression, a key regulator of glucose production in hepatocytes.

TL;DR: Pregnant women who had a singleton live birth between June 20, 2013, and November 30, 2014, resided in Beijing, Guangzhou and Chengdu, and received prenatal care in 21 selected hospitals were included in this study and it was found that FPG before the 24th gestational week and pre-pregnancy BMI could be used to predict GDM.
