Journal ArticleDOI

Isthmus Characteristics of Reentrant Ventricular Tachycardia After Myocardial Infarction

TL;DR: This work has demonstrated macroreentrant circuits with 1 loop or 2 loops rotating around a protected isthmus bounded by 2 approximately parallel conduction barriers that consisted of a line of double potentials, a scar area, or the mitral annulus in postinfarct ventricular tachycardia.
Journal ArticleDOI

Clinical predictors and prognostic significance of electrical storm in patients with implantable cardioverter defibrillators

TL;DR: ES is frequent but does not increase mortality in ICD's recipients, and patients with severe systolic dysfunction, chronic renal failure and VT as initial arrhythmia are likely to experience ES.
Journal ArticleDOI

Contributions of remote monitoring to the follow-up of implantable cardioverter-defibrillator leads under advisory

TL;DR: Remote monitoring allowed the early and reliable detection of ICD leads failure without requiring any patient intervention in 40 recipients of high-voltage ICDs, prone to fracture and under advisory since October 2007.
Journal ArticleDOI

Prevalence and prognostic significance of psychiatric disorders in patients evaluated for recurrent unexplained syncope.

TL;DR: Patients with recurrent unexplained syncope are more anxious and are more prone to panic disorders and avoidance-oriented coping strategies than control patients with arrhythmia and the presence of a psychiatric disorder is associated with an increased risk of recurrence.
