Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of the SF6D, the EQ5D, and the oswestry disability index in patients with chronic low back pain and degenerative disc disease.
Lars Gunnar Johnsen,Christian Hellum,Øystein P. Nygaard,Kjersti Storheim,Kjersti Storheim,Jens Ivar Brox,Ivar Rossvoll,Gunnar Leivseth,Margreth Grotle +8 more
TL;DR: The difference in important measurement properties between EQ5D and SF6D is too large to consider them interchangeable, and the choice of index should be determined by the diagnosis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Surgery with disc prosthesis versus rehabilitation in patients with low back pain and degenerative disc: two year follow-up of randomised study
Christian Hellum,Lars Gunnar Johnsen,Kjersti Storheim,Øystein P. Nygaard,Jens Ivar Brox,Ivar Rossvoll,Magne Rø,Leiv Sandvik,Oliver Grundnes +8 more
TL;DR: Surgical intervention with disc prosthesis for chronic low back pain resulted in a significantly greater improvement in the Oswestry score compared with rehabilitation, but this improvement did not clearly exceed the prespecified minimally important clinical difference between groups.
Journal ArticleDOI
Decompression with or without Fusion in Degenerative Lumbar Spondylolisthesis.
Ivar Magne Austevoll,Erland Hermansen,Morten W. Fagerland,Kjersti Storheim,Jens Ivar Brox,Tore Solberg,Frode Rekeland,Eric Franssen,Clemens Weber,Helena Brisby,Oliver Grundnes,Knut R H Algaard,Tordis Böker,Hasan Banitalebi,Kari Indrekvam,Christian Hellum,Nordsten-Ds Investigators +16 more
TL;DR: In patients with lumbar spinal stenosis and degenerative spondylolisthesis, it is uncertain whether decompression surgery alone is noninferior to decompression with instrumented instruments as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of Glucosamine on Pain-Related Disability in Patients With Chronic Low Back Pain and Degenerative Lumbar Osteoarthritis: A Randomized Controlled Trial
TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of glucosamine in patients with chronic low back pain (LBP) with degenerative lumbar osteoarthritis (OA) was investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Efficacy of antibiotic treatment in patients with chronic low back pain and Modic changes (the AIM study): double blind, randomised, placebo controlled, multicentre trial
Lars Christian Haugli Bråten,Lars Christian Haugli Bråten,Mads Peder Rolfsen,Mads Peder Rolfsen,Ansgar Espeland,Ansgar Espeland,Monica Wigemyr,Jörg Aßmus,Anne Froholdt,Anne Julsrud Haugen,Gunn Hege Marchand,Per Martin Kristoffersen,Per Martin Kristoffersen,Olav Lutro,Sigrun Randen,Maja Wilhelmsen,Bendik S. Winsvold,Thomas Kadar,Thor Einar Holmgard,Maria Dehli Vigeland,Maria Dehli Vigeland,Nils Vetti,Nils Vetti,Øystein P. Nygaard,Benedicte A. Lie,Christian Hellum,Audny Anke,Margreth Grotle,Margreth Grotle,Elina Iordanova Schistad,Jan Sture Skouen,Jan Sture Skouen,Lars Grøvle,Jens Ivar Brox,Jens Ivar Brox,John-Anker Zwart,John-Anker Zwart,Kjersti Storheim,Kjersti Storheim +38 more
TL;DR: The results do not support the use of antibiotic treatment for chronic low back pain and Modic changes, and secondary analyses and sensitivity analyses supported this finding.
