Exponential convergence of hp-FEM for the integral fractional Laplacian in 1D

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors prove weighted analytic regularity for the solution of the integral fractional Poisson problem on bounded intervals with analytic right-hand side, and prove exponential convergence of the hp-FEM on geometric boundary-refined meshes.
Book ChapterDOI

Elements of Numerical Methods for PDEs

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors classified partial differential equations (PDEs) into elliptic, parabolic and hyperbolic equations, and indicated the corresponding type of problems that they model.

$hp$-FEM for reaction-diffusion equations II. Robust exponential convergence for multiple length scales in corner domains

TL;DR: In this paper, it was shown that linear, second order, singularly perturbed reaction diffusion equations on so-called geometric boundary layer meshes afford exponential convergence in the natural energy norm of the problem, under suitable analyticity assumptions on the data.
ReportDOI

Locking Effects for the Reissner-Mindlin Plate Model

TL;DR: In this paper, the robustness of various standard finite element schemes for the Reissner-Mindlin plate was analyzed and the authors obtained asymptotic convergence estimates that are uniform in terms of the thickness d. They also identified h version schemes that show locking, i.e. for which the convergence rate deteriorates as d (right arrow) 0 and also showed that the p version is free of locking.
