Journal ArticleDOI

Insulin-like molecules in Momordica charantia seeds.

TL;DR: The data indicate that molecules with insulin-like bioactivity are present in Momordica charantia seeds.
Journal ArticleDOI

Isolation and characterization of a galactose binding lectin with insulinomimetic activities. From the seeds of the bitter gourd Momordica charantia (Family Cucurbitaceae).

TL;DR: A galactose binding lectin was isolated from the seeds of the bitter gourd Momordica charantia by delipidation with petroleum ether, extraction with phosphate buffered saline, ammonium sulfate precipitation and affinity chromatography on lactogel and exhibited potent hemagglutinating activity.
Journal ArticleDOI

A review on the immunomodulatory activity of Acanthopanax senticosus and its active components

TL;DR: Although various phytochemicals such as isofraxidin, syringin and eleutheroside E from Ciwujia have been shown to modulate immunological functions, the aqueous extract of Ciwuartia as a whole possesses the most potent efficacy.
Journal ArticleDOI

Two antifungal components isolated from Fructus Psoraleae and Folium Eucalypti Globuli by bioassay-guided purification.

TL;DR: This is the first paper to report the isolation and identification of active antidermatophytic compounds from Fructus Psoraleae and Folium Eucalypti Globuli by the bioassay-guided purification.
Journal ArticleDOI

The Effects of an Antiosteoporosis Herbal Formula Containing Epimedii Herba, Ligustri Lucidi Fructus and Psoraleae Fructus on Density and Structure of Rat Long Bones Under Tail‐Suspension, and its Mechanisms of Action

TL;DR: This study presents the first scientific evidence that ELP had a significant preventive effect against bone loss induced by TS through the actions of enhancing osteogenesis, suppressing adipogenesis and osteoclastogenesis.
