Numerical investigation of blade tip grooving effect on performance and dynamics of an axial flow fan

TL;DR: In this article, the performance of the OB-84 axial fan with different grooved blade tips is simulated using Fluent, and the effects of various tip structures on the flow field, losses distribution, and noise characteristics are investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical investigation of impeller trimming effect on performance of an axial flow fan

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of trimming quantity and tip clearance on axial fan performance was investigated under the following conditions: trimming 5, 10, and 15% of blade height, with tip clearance changed and unchanged, and formulae were presented for total pressure rise and flow rate ratio versus impeller diameter ratio.
Journal ArticleDOI

Performance, aeroacoustics and feature extraction of an axial flow fan with abnormal blade angle

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of the deviation angle of an abnormal blade Δβ on the performance of an axial fan was investigated using 3D steady simulation, and the sound pressure distribution in the time and frequency domains was examined using LES (large eddy simulation) and FW-H (Fowcs Williams-Hawkings) noise model.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of blade tip pattern on performance of a twin-stage variable-pitch axial fan

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of five blade tip patterns on performance and acoustics of a twin-stage variable-pitch axial fan is investigated numerically and the best tip pattern is determined by comparing the overall performance under the condition of those patterns carving in stage I impeller, and the performance promotion is then examined under the selected tip grooving in stage II impeller and both two stage impellers.
Journal ArticleDOI

Numerical simulation of pressure pulsation and transient flow field in an axial flow fan

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of an abnormal stagger angle on the internal flow field and pressure pulsation were evaluated using unsteady 3D modeling, and the characterization capabilities of the approximate entropy and sample entropy for identifying an abnormal deviation were examined by extracting the features from the static pressure signals.
