An overview on metal Oxide-based materials for iodine capture and storage

TL;DR: In this article , the metal oxide-based materials for volatile radioactive iodine capture, with limitations on operating conditions, adsorption capacities, and long-term immobilization are discussed.
Journal ArticleDOI

Carbon cloth as an important electrode support for the high selective electrosorption of uranium from acidic uranium mine wastewater

TL;DR: In this article , an amidoxime modified carbon cloth electrode (CC-AO) was applied for uranium electrosorption at low pH value of 2, and the results showed that UO22+ (20 mg/L), removal by CC-A o o was 94.3% at pH = 2 with a high electoresorption capacity of 989.5 mg/g (within 12.5 h).
Journal ArticleDOI

Reforestation enhanced landscape connectivity for thermal buffering in China

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors show that large-scale reforestation in China has effectively increased the size and connectivity of forest patches by gradually filling gaps among isolated patches and creating more core forests, which have a stronger capacity to cool the land surface, leading to a daily mean cooling effect of −0.42 ± 0.23 °C relative to nearby marginal forests.
