Journal ArticleDOI

Immunoglobulins in ataxia-telangiectasia: Evidence for IgG4 and IgA2 subclass deficiencies

TL;DR: Severe IgA2 deficiencies and/or IgG4 deficiencies which frequently led to the disruption of the normally expected inter-IgG subclass balance, have been detected in most patients, but not as inherited family traits.
Journal ArticleDOI

Association of the c2-deficiency gene (c2*qo) with the c4a*4, c4b*2 genes

TL;DR: C4 typing in thirteen homozygous C2‐deficient patients and in a family with heterozygotes C2 deficiency showed a strong association of the C2•deficiency gene (C2*QO) with the relatively rare C4A* C4B*2 haplotype.
Journal ArticleDOI

Immunoadsorption procedure as a potential method for the specific β2-microglobulin removal from plasma of patients with chronic renal failure

TL;DR: The results show the validity of the proposed technique in removing beta-M from plasma of patients with chronic renal failure in terms of efficiency and specificity.
Journal ArticleDOI

Affinity purification of human plasma fibronectin on immobilized gelatin.

TL;DR: Under optimized conditions, the method described here provides a rapid, single-step and convenient way for the isolation of pure and functional fibronectin, either for analytical or large-scale preparative purposes.
Journal ArticleDOI

Regenerated Cellulose‐Based Hemodialyzers with Immobilized Proteins as Potential Devices for Extracorporeal Immunoadsorption Procedures: An Assessment of Protein Coupling Capacity and In Vitro Dialysis Performances

TL;DR: Results indicate that 150-300 mg of immunoglobulins can be immobilized per square meter of Cuprophan, and modified hemodialyzers show a slight decrease of their clearance values and a slight increase of their ultrafiltration coefficients, and thus they can be proposed as reliable carrier material for extracorporeal cleansing systems.
