Journal ArticleDOI
Effect of sirolimus on malignancy and survival after kidney transplantation: systematic review and meta-analysis of individual patient data
Greg Knoll,Madzouka B. Kokolo,Ranjeeta Mallick,Andrew H. Beck,Chieny Buenaventura,Robin Ducharme,Rashad S. Barsoum,Corrado Bernasconi,Tom Blydt-Hansen,Henrik Ekberg,Claudia Rosso Felipe,John Firth,Lorenzo Gallon,M. Gelens,Denis Glotz,Jan Gossmann,Markus Guba,Ahmed Morsy,Rebekka Salgo,Earnst H Scheuermann,Helio Tedesco-Silva,Stefan Vitko,Christopher J.E. Watson,Dean Fergusson +23 more
TL;DR: Sirolimus was associated with a reduction in the risk of malignancy and non-melanoma skin cancer in transplant recipients and the use of this drug does not seem warranted for most patients with kidney transplant.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reduced Incidence of Cytomegalovirus Infection in Kidney Transplant Recipients Receiving Everolimus and Reduced Tacrolimus Doses
Helio Tedesco-Silva,Claudia Rosso Felipe,Alexandra Ferreira,Marina Pontello Cristelli,N. Oliveira,Tainá Veras de Sandes-Freitas,Wilson Aguiar,Erika F. Campos,Maria Gerbase-DeLima,Marcello Franco,Jose O. Medina-Pestana +10 more
TL;DR: Reduced‐dose tacrolimus and everolimus was associated with a significant reduction in the incidence of CMV infection/disease compared to standard tac rolimus dose and mycophenolate in de novo kidney transplant recipients receiving no pharmacological CMV prophylaxis.
Journal ArticleDOI
Prolonged Delayed Graft Function Is Associated with Inferior Patient and Kidney Allograft Survivals.
Tainá Veras de Sandes-Freitas,Claudia Rosso Felipe,Wilson Aguiar,Marina Pontello Cristelli,Helio Tedesco-Silva,Jose O. Medina-Pestana +5 more
TL;DR: Prolonged DGF, determined by retplantation and higher HLA mismatches, was associated with inferior renal function, and patient and graft survivals at one year, and Multivariable analysis showed that prolonged DGF was an independent risk factor for graft loss.
Journal ArticleDOI
Risk Factors Associated With Graft Loss and Patient Survival After Kidney Transplantation
Kelly Miyuki Harada,E.L. Mandia-Sampaio,T.V. de Sandes-Freitas,Claudia Rosso Felipe,S.I. Park,Paula G. Pinheiro-Machado,R. Garcia,Helio Tedesco-Silva,Jose O. Medina-Pestana +8 more
TL;DR: Traditional risk factors are still associated with transplantation outcome, and poorer graft survival in black vs nonblack patients was due to higher mortality rather than graft loss.
Journal ArticleDOI
Mycophenolic acid metabolite profile in renal transplant patients receiving enteric-coated mycophenolate sodium or mycophenolate mofetil.
Helio Tedesco-Silva,M.-C. Bastien,L. Choi,Claudia Rosso Felipe,J. Campestrini,F. Picard,R. Schmouder +6 more
TL;DR: It is indicated that AcMPAG may contribute around 14% of the exposure to active drug after administration of MPA, and both EC-MPS and MMF treatments were well tolerated over the 1-month period of chronic treatment.
