Meteorites: optical activity in organic matter.

TL;DR: A low- amplitude, positive, Cotton effect, centered at about 340 millimicrons, has been observed in organic extracts of samples from ordinary (noncarbonaceous) chondrites, and it is likely that this optical activity derived from contamination by biologic materials on Earth.

Elements, sulfides, sulfosalts, oxides

TL;DR: The authors provides descriptions of all of the over 3000 recognized mineral species, emphasizing mineral structure and provides global coverage of tens of thousands of locations and highlights exceptional crystals, providing balanced coverage, from extended essays on important species and groups to compact descriptions of less important species.
