TL;DR: It is shown that large eruptions in the tropics and high latitudes were primary drivers of interannual-to-decadal temperature variability in the Northern Hemisphere during the past 2,500 years and cooling was proportional to the magnitude of volcanic forcing.
Book
The social structure of the First Crusade
TL;DR: The authors provides a detailed analysis of the social structure of the First Crusade (1096-1099) along with an original assessment of the sociology of its contemporary or near contemporary sources.
Book
Revolution in Ireland: Popular Militancy, 1917 to 1923
TL;DR: The years from the Easter Rising in 1916 to the ending of the Civil War in 1923 were years full of drama and of fast-changing events, whose outcome shaped Irish society for generations as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI
Reconciling multiple ice-core volcanic histories: The potential of tree-ring and documentary evidence, 670–730 CE
TL;DR: In this article, the chemical fingerprints of major volcanism in Greenland ice-cores for the years 670-730 CE were reconciled with divergent dating between datasets, leading to a more coherent volcanic history for these years, and an improved agreement with tree-ring and written records.
