Synthesis and Polymerization of Anhydro Sugars

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors analyze the preparation of anhydro sugar derivatives that are appropriate starting materials for the synthesis of stereoregular polysaccharides and discuses the methods and mechanisms of polymerization, properties, and characterization of the resultant polymers and their developing applications.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methanolysis as a model reaction for oligosaccharide synthesis of some 6-substituted 2,3,4-tri-O-benzyl-D-galactopyranosyl derivatives

TL;DR: In the case of methanolysis of some 2,3,4-tri-O -benzyl-D -galactopyranosyl derivatives, the nature of the C-6 substituent appears to have minor influence on the steric outcome of the reaction compared with the effects of solvent and the leaving group at C-1.
Journal ArticleDOI

Synthesis of a substituted 2,6-dioxabicyclo[3.1.1]heptane,1,3-anhydro-2,4,6-tri-O-benzyl-β-d-glucopyranose

TL;DR: In this paper, an anhydro sugar derivative with the 2,6-dioxabicyclo [3.1]heptane skeleton was synthesized by ring closure of 2,4,6,tri-O -benzyl-α-d -glucopyranosyl chloride via two reaction sequences.
