Firms' participation in open source projects: which impact on software quality and success

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of firms participation on success and software design quality of OS community projects hosted on the on-line repository SourceForge was analyzed, showing that firms involvement improves the ranking of OS projects but, on the other hand, lowers software quality, probably because of corporate constraints put on the OS developing practices.
