Benzotriazoles and Triazoloquinones: Rearrangements to Carbazoles, Benzazirines, Azepinediones, and Fulvenimines

TL;DR: The denitrogenative rearrangements of several types of benzotriazoles were investigated by DFT (B3LYP/6-311G(d,p)) and CASPT2(10,10)sp/6 -311G (d, p) calculations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Trimethylsilylnitrene and Its Surprising Rearrangement to N-(Dimethylsilyl)methanimine via Silaziridine and Silaazomethine Ylide.

TL;DR: Calculations at the CASPT2(14,13) level reveal the open-shell singlet nitrene 2 aS(1 A") is a discrete intermediate lying ≈38 kcal mol-1 above the triplet, which explains why this product has never been observed.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new example of internal oxidation of remote groups in organic nitroaromatic ions

TL;DR: In this paper, an intramolecular redox reaction occurring in ionized benzotriazoles and triazolopyridines bearing o-nitroaryl substituents on nitrogen produces ionized fulven-6-one and azafulven 6-one.
Journal ArticleDOI

Structures of 4-iminopyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidines, pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidin-4-ones, pyridopyrimidinium olates, and thiazolo[3,2-a]pyrimidine analogues

TL;DR: The Structure-Correlation Principle of Burgi and Dunitz is invoked in an analysis of the structures of 2-chloro-8-methyl-4-(2-(4-picolinyl)imino-4H-pyrido[1,2-a]pyrimidine.
Journal ArticleDOI

Zwitterionic 1,3‐Shift Intermediates in the Interconversions of (Thio)carbamoyl Isocyanates and Carbamoyl Iso(thio)cyanates, R2N–CX–NCO ⇌ R2N–CO–NCX, and in Carbamoylketenes R2N–CO–CH=C=O

TL;DR: In this paper, cyclic zwitterionic intermediates were located as reactive intermediates in the thermal 1,3-shifts of dimethylamino and N-piperidinyl groups in carbamoyl isocyanates, carbamide isothiocyanate and carbamide ketenes at the B3LYP, M06-2X and MP2 computational levels of theory.
