Ignition studies on cotton cellulose by DTA

TL;DR: Differential thermal analysis was used to investigate the spontaneous combustion of cotton cellulose in an atmosphere of flowing air, and the temperature at which the onset of spontaneous ignition occurs, Ti, was determined as a function of sample mass, air flow rate and heating rate as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI

The use of DTA to study spontanceous ignition of cellulose

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used differential thermal analysis to investigate spontaneous ignition behavior of cotton cellulose and found that at a given heating rate, increased oxygen concentration reduces the activation energy of pyrolysis.
