TL;DR: The involvement of mu- and kappa-opiate receptors in the regulation of LH and prolactin secretion was investigated in long-term ovariectomized rats using selective opiate receptor agonists and antagonists, indicating that opiate suppression of LH secretion is mediated by mu-receptors.

Chronic blockade of opiate receptors: Influence on reproduction and body weight in female rats
TL;DR: Data show that chronic blockade of endogenous opiate transmission does not interfere with fertility and LH secretion in female rats, and endogenous opioids may only play a minor role in the reproduction of female rats.
