Journal ArticleDOI
Acclimatization of Micropropagated Plants to Ex Vitro Conditions
TL;DR: This review is focused upon contemporary information on the changes in leaf structure, water relations and photosynthesis during acclimatization of plantlets to ex vitro conditions and some ways of improving plant survival and for the speeding up of acclimation.
Journal ArticleDOI
Comparison of hormonal responses to heat, drought and combined stress in tobacco plants with elevated proline content.
Jana Dobrá,Václav Motyka,Petre I. Dobrev,Jiri Malbeck,Ilja Tom Prášil,D. Haisel,Alena Gaudinova,Marie Havlová,Jozef Gubis,Radomira Vankova +9 more
TL;DR: A greater increase in cytokinin content in Pro transformants indicated a mild elevation of their stress tolerance, and bioactive cytokinins levels decreased in the whole plants, remaining relatively higher in preferentially protected upper leaves and in roots.
Journal ArticleDOI
Enhanced drought and heat stress tolerance of tobacco plants with ectopically enhanced cytokinin oxidase/dehydrogenase gene expression
Hana Macková,Marie Hronková,Jana Dobrá,Veronika Turečková,Ondřej Novák,Zuzana Lubovská,Václav Motyka,D. Haisel,Tomáš Hájek,Ilja Tom Prášil,Alena Gaudinova,Helena Štorchová,Eva Ge,Tomáš Werner,Thomas Schmülling,Radomira Vankova +15 more
TL;DR: Modulation of cytokinin levels may positively affect plant responses to abiotic stress through a variety of physiological mechanisms, and is associated with enhanced stress tolerance of this genotype.
Journal ArticleDOI
Tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) SlIPT3 and SlIPT4 isopentenyltransferases mediate salt stress response in tomato
Eva Žižková,Petre I. Dobrev,Yordan Muhovski,Petr Hosek,Petr Hosek,Klára Hoyerová,D. Haisel,Dagmar Procházková,Stanley Lutts,Václav Motyka,Imène Hichri,Imène Hichri +11 more
TL;DR: The substantial participation of SlIPT3 in CK metabolism during salt stress has been determined in 35S::SlipT3 tomato transformants, where enhancement of CKs accumulation significantly improved plant tolerance to salinity, underlining the importance of this phytohormone in stress response.
Journal ArticleDOI
Culture on sugar medium enhances photosynthetic capacity and high light resistance of plantlets grown in vitro
TL;DR: It is concluded that culture on sugar medium increases not only the photosynthetic potential but also the high light resistance of plantlets grown in vitro.
