Quadratic nonlinear-optical properties of a new transparent and highly efficient organic–inorganic crystal: 2-amino-5-nitropyridinium-dihydrogen phosphate (2A5NPDP)

TL;DR: In this paper, 2-amino-5-nitro-pyridinium-dihydrogen phosphate (2A5NPDP) was designed to display high NLO efficiency by incorporating highly polarizable organic molecules arranged in a polar order between phosphate polyanion sheets.
Journal ArticleDOI

Quadratic nonlinear properties of N-(4-nitrophenyl)- L-prolinol and of a newly engineered molecular compound N-(4-nitrophenyl)-N-methylaminoacetonitrile: a comparative study

TL;DR: In this article, a new molecular engineering strategy is proposed that favors the packing of charge-transfer conjugated molecules to enhance their crystalline quadratic nonlinear efficiency, which is shown to have a powder second-harmonic generation efficiency of the same order as that of N-(4-nitrophenyl)-L-prolinol (NPP), i.e., more than 2 orders of magnitude above that of urea.
Journal ArticleDOI

Second harmonic generation in alternate non-linear Langmuir-Blodgett films

TL;DR: In this article, the second harmonic generation experiments were performed in alternate multilayers of two non-linear molecules, the hydrophobic chain being grafted onto the acceptor group of the first species A and onto the donor group of B. The second harmonic intensity with respect to the number of active layers was interpreted in terms of the disorder appearing in the upper monolayer of the Langmuir-Blodgett film.
Journal ArticleDOI

Near-infrared pulsed optical parametric oscillation in N-(4-nitrophenyl)-l-prolinol at the 1-ns time scale

TL;DR: In this paper, a 1.9mm-thick nonlinear molecular crystal of N-(4-nitrophenyl)-l-prolinol was pumped at a wavelength of 0.5927 μm and a pulse duration of 1 ns (FWHM).
Journal ArticleDOI

Noncritical properties of noncollinear phase-matched second-harmonic and sum-frequency generation in 3-methyl-4-nitropyridine-1-oxide

TL;DR: In this paper, a thorough investigation of non-collinear phase-matching configurations for second-harmonic and sum-frequency generations is performed and leads to the concept of one-beam noncritical nonlinear phase matching, which may be of great practical interest in optical parametric amplification and oscillation processes.
