Journal ArticleDOI

High spin polarization at the HERA electron storage ring

TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the progress made in 1992 towards increasing the vertical electron beam polarization at HERA by using harmonic spin-orbit corrections and beam tuning, and the vertical polarization has been increased from 15% to nearly 60% at a beam energy of 26.7 GeV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Higher-order effects in polarized proton dynamics

TL;DR: In this article, it was shown that the theoretical validity of the first-order theories is restricted at Hadron Electron Ring Accelerator (HERA) energies of up to 820 GeV.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spin transport, spin diffusion and Bloch equations in electron storage rings☆

TL;DR: In this paper, the Fokker-Planck equation for electrons emitting synchrotron radiation in a storage ring was used to construct an equation of the Bloch type for the polarisation density.
