Refinements on fracture toughness of PUR foams
Liviu Marsavina,Dan Mihai Constantinescu,Emanoil Linul,Dragos Alexandru Apostol,Tudor Voiconi,Tomasz Sadowski +5 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors presented the polyurethane foam fracture toughness results obtained for different foam densities and two types of specimens were used for determining fracture toughness in modes I, II and a mixed one, and the size effect, loading speed and loading direction were investigated.
Journal ArticleDOI
Shear and mode II fracture of PUR foams
Liviu Marsavina,Dan Mihai Constantinescu,Dan Mihai Constantinescu,Emanoil Linul,Tudor Voiconi,Dragos Alexandru Apostol,Dragos Alexandru Apostol +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a micromechanical model is proposed to estimate fracture toughness based on the tensile strength of the solid material and the topology of the cellular structure of polyurethane foams.
Journal ArticleDOI
Experimental and numerical crack paths in PUR foams
Liviu Marsavina,Dan Mihai Constantinescu,Emanoil Linul,Florin Adrian Stuparu,Dragos Alexandru Apostol +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the behavior of closed cell rigid PUR foams under mixed mode loading was investigated using asymmetric semi-circular bend (ASCB) and asymmetric four-point bend (AFPB) specimens.
Journal ArticleDOI
Investigation of the dynamic mechanical behavior of Polyetheretherketone (PEEK) in the high stress tensile regime
TL;DR: In this paper, two types of PEEK (annealed and untreated) were investigated and two load ratios, R, were used (0.1 and 0.5), during the fatigue tests extensometer strain, load and surface temperature were recorded and a quantitative hysteresis loop analysis with calculated secant modulus and dynamic modulus was performed.
Journal ArticleDOI
Latent heat nano composite building materials
M. Constantinescu,L. Dumitrache,Dan Mihai Constantinescu,Elena Maria Anghel,V.T. Popa,A. Stoica,Mircea Olteanu +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, phase change material (PCM)-epoxy composites are used as building materials depending on phase change temperature and latent heat using the optimal geometry for each application, and some nano-composite materials were prepared by mixing a PCM with large latent heat with epoxy resin and Al powder.
