Determination of the Apparent Dissociation Constants of Phosphoric Acid in SEAWATER1

TL;DR: In this paper, the apparent dissociation constants of a tribasic acid in complex concentrated ionic solutions using potentiometric pH measurements and acid-base titrations were determined in artificial seawater over the ranges of temperature and salinity normally encountered in the ocean.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical model for the formation of ion-pairs in seawater

TL;DR: In this paper, predictions of association constants for ion-pair formation in seawater were compared to measured constants as a test for the existence of ion-pairs, and a fair agreement was obtained in most cases, although the theoretical electrostatic calculations indicate that significant chloride ionpairing should occur which has not been observed in most experimental investigations.
